When we go out on clubs to have some fun, dancing and meet new and interesting people, we use the known flirting technique that consists on approaching someone that is agradable to our eyes and then, invest subjects and smiles, aiming something more sexual, in the very end of it. It is pretty normal to introduce ourselves, buy a drink or two and start talking about something in common that both of you have.

But there is a thin line that separates the flirting act from being an exhaustive person, what can result in – why not – sexual harassment. People must understand this tenuous line, because the target of the flirting may get embarrassed with the situation, and that can result on a very big trouble.

What, in general words, characterizes a sexual harassment is somebody menacing another individual, using some kind of hierarchy to achieve sexual favors. In the most reported stories, it happens in academic environment and in workspaces where are high-charged and subordinated people. It means that, the aggressor uses his power to attack the victim, intimidating and humiliating (and sometimes threatening to fire) in exchange of sex or other sexual aiming. However, it can happen on clubs, as well.

The most common cases of flirting becoming a violent act is when the approaching involves bad words and sexual content. Besides of rarely work, it can end very badly. According to the facts, most aggressors are under effects of alcohol, a very potent agent, when the issue is aggression – of any nature. Along with alcohol, any other substance that messes with our perception can contribute to it happen.

There are not any tips to flirt; some people say that it born with you, some say it is a gift – what does not prohibits some people to learn with time. To practice and pay attention to the target’s reaction is always the best. There are some flirts that really do not work at all, and only with time people learn. Never use rude words and subjects. To be kind and offer a bunch of smiles is the most indicated.
